Mark commenced his career in 1980 with MAI Plc. He joined GLE Development Capital in 1987 and became Managing Director in 1994. In 1997, he originated and founded a factoring and invoice discounting company, Independent Growth Finance, in which GLE Development Capital funds invested. In March 2004 he led the management team that acquired GLE Development Capital to form Matrix Private Equity Partners. Mark is a member of the AIC VCT forum and has over 20 years’ experience of private equity investment.

Ashley qualified as a chartered accountant with Arthur Andersen and joined Matrix in 2001. With a background in strategy consulting, he has 10 years experience of private equity investment. He is currently non-executive director of the following Matrix investee companies: Monsal, Focus Pharmaceuticals and VSI.

Jonathan qualified as a chartered accountant with Baker Tilly and joined the team as a director, responsible for new investment, in 1995. He has over 25 years' experience working with unquoted companies and 15 years’ experience of private equity investment. Jonathan is non – executive director of a number of Matrix investee companies.

Bob entered the private equity industry with County Bank in 1979 and established and ran HSBC Ventures from 1992, leaving to join the team as a director in 1998. Bob specialises in the Food and Construction sectors and also has strong links in the South West and has over 25 years’ experience of private equity investment.

Eric qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG and joined Enterprise Ventures in 1990 becoming Head of Investment, leaving to join the team in 2000 as a new investment director. He has 20 years’ experience of private equity investment.

Mike originally trained at 3i Plc and was a director of Gresham Trust Plc for seven years, becoming head of its Portfolio Management Unit. He joined the team as a director in 1998 and is a non-executive director of several companies in Matrix's portfolio. He has over 30 years’ experience of private equity investment.

Following a career in civil engineering John entered the venture capital industry in 1981 joining Midland Bank Equity. From 1992-2003 he was an investment director at HSBC Ventures becoming Managing Director in 1998. He joined Matrix in 2004 and has over 25 years’ experience of private equity investment.

Guy joined Matrix in 2007 and has worked on deals and with portfolio companies in a wide variety sectors, including: construction, travel, technology and software. Before joining Matrix Guy spent four years working on a wide variety of development and investment projects for the Grosvenor Group. He has a background in engineering and real estate, plus a masters degree in investment and finance.

Chris Price joined Matrix in 2010. Chris joined us from Foresight Group where he led a range of buyouts and prior to that he worked for ICON Corporate Finance. Chris has a Masters in Entrepreneurship from Bristol University and a degree in History from King’s College London. He was recently awarded the title of South East Venture Capitalist of the Year 2010 by Insider Media.
