The business originally focused on film finance, raising more than $2 billion for films such as Oliver Stone's Alexander; Roman Polanaski's, The Pianist; and Kevin Reynolds', Tristan and Isolde.
Matrix has broadened its areas of expertise to include to include a range of leveraged commercial investment.
Examples include raising:
£107 million through a partnership structure for a company working on a universal flu vaccine including Avian Flu.
£67 million for ground-breaking research into depression and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
£65 million for vehicle leasing.
The team has also worked on shipping products and innovative hedge fund structures.
