Ray Coole founded the Private Funds Group at Matrix in January 2004. Prior to joining Matrix, Ray was a Director at Evolution Beeson Gregory plc, where he was responsible for third party institutional fundraising for a number of Private Equity Fund Managers. Ray has spent over 30 years working for blue chip investment banks and financial institutions.

Mark MacLean joined Matrix Private Funds Group in February 2008. Mark has had over 25 year’s international experience in investment banking, M&A and institutional private placement. Prior to joining Matrix, Mark was a Director and Head of Private Equity Advisory for Seymour Pierce Limited in London and Global Head of Private Placement for WestLB Group. Previously, Mark was a Director of Barclays de Zoete Wedd in London and Vice-President of Kidder Peabody & Co in San Francisco.

Edward Holdsworth joined the Private Funds Group at Matrix in May 2005. Edward qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ACA) with Ernst & Young LLP in 2001, where he worked in the Banking & Capital Markets Group for 4.5 years. Following this he gained a further 2 years financial experience working with Swiss Re Financial Services, and more recently with UBS in the Equities Structured Products Group in London specialising in alternative asset class structures.

Charles Lemon joined the Private Funds Group at Matrix in May 2005. Prior to joining Matrix, Charles worked in International Relationship Management for the American private bank Brown Brothers Harriman, and subsequently at AXA and Northern Trust. Charles has extensive experience of working with International Financial Institutions and speaks fluent French and Spanish.
