Property

Rob is a Director of the Matrix Group Limited and is the Managing Member of MPFM. Rob joined Matrix in 1996 and has been responsible for developing the Matrix business in structuring, syndicating and managing commercial property investments. Prior to joining Matrix, Rob has had 10 years experience in the property finance industry, in particular concentrating on Enterprise Zone Investments.

Mike joined MPFM in October 2005 as Chief Operations Officer. Mike has 13 years of property experience, including 5 years in investments and asset management with a subsidiary of Pension Fund PGGM, and more than 5 years with Lend Lease, mainly as Chief Financial Officer of its US$2bn closed-end Global Properties SICAF. Mike also consulted for UBS in its launch of the UBS (Lux) and UBS (Jersey) Real Estate open-ended Euro Core Funds. Previously Mike had been in public accountancy (1982-1993) and served as a partner with BDO and with Jones & Kolb.

Ian joined MPFM in July 2001 where he has assumed responsibility for the acquisition of property investments. Ian was previously at Drivers Jonas as an Investment Partner and Director of its Financial Services Company. Ian left after 9 years at Drivers Jonas and has in total over 19 years' experience in private practise as a surveyor and management consultant.

Mischa joined Matrix in July 2001. He is a Chartered Surveyor. He currently works as a Fund Manager where he is responsible for acquisitions, disposals and asset management transactions across the portfolio. In particular, Mischa was integral to the creation of the Matrix No.1 Unit Trust and now has specific responsibility for the fund management of the same. Mischa has nine years’ real estate experience and prior to joining Matrix he worked for three years at Lambert Smith Hampton.

Ellison is part of the capital transactions team within Matrix. Ellison joined from DTZ where he was involved in trading based valuations, strategic appraisals and corporate property portfolio valuations. Ellison is a qualified ACA and a registered person. Previously Ellison trained for 3 and a half years within the Audit and Business Assurance Services division in PwC.

Ruby previously worked in the Real Estate Finance team at Merrill Lynch, where she undertook both debt origination and commercial mortgage backed securitisation structuring throughout Europe. Before joining Matrix Ruby spent time in India acquiring real estate investments as principal and setting the foundations of a private real estate fund with a local Indian developer. Ruby has nine years’ experience in the real estate finance industry with previous positions at Standard and Poors and Hatfield Philips International.

Scott moved to MPFM in 2007 to act as Fund Manager for MEREIT. He joined after working for 14 years within the investment team at Drivers Jonas where he was the Partner in charge of in-house fund management. His role encompassed advising on investment strategy, acquisitions, disposals and asset management initiatives for a variety of clients.

Rebecca joined the Matrix acquisitions team in December 2007 after spending a year with Cushman & Wakefield’s research group. In 2006 she received her MSc in Corporate Real Estate Finance from Cass Business School, City University of London. Prior to this she worked in the US for 4 years for an economic developer doing marketing and leasing of commercial and industrial properties. She is a licensed Pennsylvania Real Estate Salesperson and has begun working towards her RICS qualification.

Nick Hill is responsible for sales and marketing within Matrix Property Fund Management LLP. Before joining Matrix in 2000 he worked at Jupiter Asset Management.

Martyn joined Matrix in February 2007, principally to assist in the operation of the Matrix No. 1 Unit Trust and Matrix European Real Estate Investment Trust Limited. He has 14 years’ experience in unit trust administration.

Hamilton is provides consultancy services to Matrix Group regarding the sale and marketing of Property products. Hamilton joined Matrix in 1999 from Johnson Fry where he was associate director of sales and marketing. Hamilton has been involved in raising finance within the Property Industry for over 15 years, and has raised circa £2 bn.

Jonathan Putsman qualified as a solicitor and practised with SJ Berwin & Co in the early 1990s. As the partner responsible for legal affairs within MPFM LLP he joined Matrix in 1998 having worked in property development in during the mid 1990s. His role is to co-ordinate the legal process and negotiate the transactional documentation.

Hanny joined MPFM as part of the transactions executions team in 2002. Hanny has over 8 years experience transacting commercial property deals across various jurisdictions including Europe, Australia and the UK. Prior to joining Matrix, she was Legal Counsel for the First American Title Insurance Company of Australia Pty Limited and also practiced as a commercial property lawyer with Gadens Lawyers (Sydney). Hanny is a qualified lawyer and admitted in Queensland and New South Wales in Australia, and England and Wales in the UK.

Rebecca joined Matrix in 2006. She works as assistant to Rob Randall, Ian Blake, Mike Perkins and Jonathan Putsman. Her previous experience is in the media industry.

Kate joined Matrix in March 2007 as Assistant to Rebecca Rodger and the property team. Kate previously worked in the Private Health Sector.

Nat joined Matrix in May 2004 as a Commercial Property Manager having previously gained a diverse range of experience in Facilities Management. He was the Operations Manager for a large residential portfolio in London, before settling into commercial property and his career has incorporated both medical and leisure management. Nat now plays an active role in the day to day management of the portfolio and enhancement of asset value.

Paul Nicholls joined Matrix in 1999. He is a Chartered Surveyor and is Trust Manager for the Enterprise Zone Property Unit Trusts, as well as a Director of Matrix Property Management Ltd which oversees a range of traditional property investments. His principal role in the UK is the sale of properties managed by Matrix. Outside the UK, and in conjunction with local agents, Paul also manages the European Portfolio, comprising a range of sector diverse properties located in France and Germany.

Doug Friend joined Matrix in May 2005, as a Commercial Property Manager, from the Montpellier Group where he was involved with day-to-day management, disposals and surrender negotiations. Prior to this Doug was involved in mixed portfolio management on an estate based in the Knightsbridge & Chelsea area. Doug is currently studying a Masters Degree in Surveying, whilst gaining his RICS qualification.

Helen joined Matrix in September 2007. She is a Chartered Surveyor and helps to manage the Matrix European Real Estate Investment Trust, which comprises a variety of investment properties located across Western Europe. She previously worked for Atisreal where her experience included a secondment to Paris.

Jessica joined Matrix in 1999. She is Property Administrator for the Matrix Property Management team.

Gordon joined MPFM in July 2007 as European Funds Chief Financial Officer. Gordon joined from 3i where he was involved with the Group finance and accounts. Previously, he spent 11 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant, including five years within their real estate group.

Malini Balaranjan joined Matrix in September 2004 as Property Accountant in Matrix Property Management team

Edita joined Matrix in November 2006 as fund accountant for the European funds, primarily focussing on Matrix European Real Estate Investment Trust Limited. She qualified as a Chartered Accountant within Australia in 2005. Having gained 7 years accounting and tax experience, specializing in Australian Corporations tax law.

Charles joined Matrix in October 2007 as fund accountant for the UK fund. He has experience in finance and accounting having spent four years working in practice and three in commerce.
