Enterprise Zone Trusts

Introduction

 

Enterprise Zone Trusts were created in the 1980s to facilitate economic regeneration in areas for commercial activity. To attract private sector investment 100% initial tax allowances were given on commercial property development in Enterprise Zones. The Zones benefitted from a simplified planning regime and occupiers enjoyed exemption from non-domestic business rates.
